The International Executive Service Corps (IESC), a non-profit with a long history of implementing economic growth development programs around the world, is recruiting for a senior new business associate to work within our New Business Development Unit. The senior new business associate will play a key role in identifying and tracking new opportunities for IESC’s Economic Growth, Financial Services, ICT, Tourism, and Volunteer Services practice areas. S/he will manage the development of responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and applications (RFAs) from USAID and other USG or development agencies.
IESC is looking for a deadline-oriented individual with a proven track record of managing proposals, especially for USG development agencies. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of international development experience in marketing and business development, strong editing and writing skills, and the ability to juggle and manage many moving parts.

Reporting To:New Business Director
DUTIES
- Conduct country, competitor, and commercial sector research to create and develop new programs and projects;
- Manage proposal development process, including staffing, budgeting, research and writing;
- Work with the technical team to develop the strategy and outline for each proposal; ensure compliance with procurement documents and manage proposal team, including subcontractors, consultants, and volunteers;
- Write and edit marketing material including corporate qualification statements, one-page program descriptions and PPRs;
- Develop new and maintain existing relationships with clients and partners;
- Support and serve as additional capacity on cost proposal development;
- Mentor and train staff and interns in new business and the USAID procurement process;
- Travel to and/or organize trips to countries to gather information, recruit, and develop partnerships.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least three years of USAID-focused new business development experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as economics, finance, business administration, English, international affairs/development;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to deal professionally with a wide variety of people at all levels, both U.S. and international;
- Self-starter, well-organized, with an ability to prioritize among multiple competing requests;
- Strong writing and editing ability; experience writing proposal sections and concept notes is preferred;
- Experience and proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint and other software;
- Strong research capabilities;
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally;
- Fluent in English; proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is a plus;
- U.S. citizen or eligibility to work in the U.S.
