Job Summary/Responsibilities

Leads all aspects of the organization’s financial planning and management. Provides strategic financial input and leadership on issues affecting the organization. Responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, internal financial plans, budget information and controls, audits (financial and compliance), capital planning and all accounting functions and practices. Directs the organization’s fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Oversees internal control environment, the controller function, accounting, treasury, and tax to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, cost and pricing, financial systems and regulatory compliance. Evaluates investment opportunities, financial position and health of organization and potential mergers & acquisition opportunities. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

• As a value added partner, monitors and advises the senior management team about the changes in regulatory and fiscal space.
• Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports to assist the CEO, the Board, and other senior managers with managing their areas.
• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization’s fiscal & treasury function.
• Participates in the development of the organization’s plans and programs. Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introducing of new programs/strategies and regulatory interaction.
• Develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures of the organization, along with financial systems that improve the effectiveness of the organization.
• Participates in the negotiation of the organization’s contracts to ensure contract compliance and maximized revenue for the organization.
• Manages the budgeting process and financial compliance with all legal, government and accounting standards.
• Oversees the allocation of financial resources to ensure organizational sustainability and operations.
• Collaborates with all members of the Executive Management Committee to ensure effective organizational management.
• Oversees all systems for financial management
• Provides financial reports to the Board of Directors.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent - Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or Related Field.
• 15+ years of experience with management of long-range financial planning and policies, accounting practices and procedures and financial systems.
• Demonstrated experience with mergers/acquisitions and international financial operations.
• Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
• Expertise in US Government contracting requirements and procedures
• Demonstrated expertise in supervising large, diverse teams.
• Prior work experience in both a non-governmental organization (NGO) and the private sector.
• Familiarity with international working environments.
• Experience working in decentralized organizations.
• Experience with Deltek ERMS—implementation and operation preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Ability to influence, motivate and work well with all levels of management within the organization.
• Ability to develop business and financial plans and manage operational budgets for the organization.
• Ability to implement and lead a large team through change
• Effective team building skills
