Job Details:

The ABAP/WD Programmer will work under the supervision of the Supply team Technical team leader. Related and responsibilities will include:

  1. Develop system changes, enhancements and reports using ABAP, WebDynpro, Smartforms and Adobe forms technologies in SAP Logistics modules.
  2. Support custom enhancements of the Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, and Warehouse Management modules.
  3. Bug Fixes, modifications and troubleshooting in the area of Supply and its related workflows.
  4. Performance Tuning and performing the analysis of the potential improvement in the existing SAP GUI and web dynpro applications
  5. Support of all other supply related utility function modules and methods which integrate with FI and other modules.
  6. Support the custom build modules and its relevant ring fencing based on the structural authorization.
  7. Ensure knowledge transfer to UNICEF staff.

Standards Expected:

This assignment may require work outside regular office hours, in which case the schedule will be agreed a prior with the Technical manager for the one ERP vision project and/or the SAP technical development team lead.

Weekly reports on hours work and task accomplished will be produced and handed over for approval to the Team Leader with copy the designated Administrative Assistant. All invoices must be presented on the pre-approved format –to be obtained from the Administrative Assistant, on the first day of work- and must have attached signed copies of the corresponding weekly reports and a photocopy of the contract.

All work completed must be documented and documentation must be turned over and accepted by the Project Team Leader and/or the technical team lead.

The following documentation should be used as guidelines, in addition to any other assigned by the technical development team lead:

  • SAP programming standards – with UNICEF’s adaptations, ASAP methodology
  • UNICEF standards for access to data and data staging
  • SAP Security Administration standards
  • SAP Systems Administration standards
  • ITSSD (UNICEF) technical documentation standards for SAP
  • Systems Interface Documentation

Interim/Final Output Required

Completed solutions, which can be in the form of specific programs, configuration or interfaces, reports or enhancements to the SAP System.

Written technical documentation of all tasks completed. Tasks assigned as part of the SAP Systems/Project Plan. Please refer to specific dates that will be communicated in writing by the respective team leads.

Target Completion Date of Assignment

Throughout the contract period, the consultant may be given short-term assignments with specific deadlines which will be set in agreement between the consultant and the Technical Team Leader of by the project manager. Confirmation of such target dates will be done via e-mail.

Recourse of Non-Delivery on Target

Assessment of completion of tasks will be performed by weekly and monthly follow-up. If the products are not delivered on target, one of the following actions may be taken:

Mid-way through the contract: the SAP-Technical Team Leader and/or the Project manager will notify the consultant of non-performance.

Should the situation persist, UNICEF may decide to give notice, based upon contractual terms and terminate the contract.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

The minimum qualification required are:

  1. University degree in Business administration, Computer Science, Information systems management or related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in programming, maintaining SAP applications using ABAP and/or ABAP Objects, Developing Custom enhancements and reports in Logistics modules.
  3. Experience in understanding the identified gaps and provide solution(s), translate it to technical efforts and estimate the work for the same.
  4. Experience in writing technical specifications.
  5. Functional understanding of Supply chain processes using SAP modules.
  6. Experience in programming interfaces and transferring data from/to SAP and external systems.
  7. Experience with Smartforms, ADOBE forms, Workflow and web services.
  8. Experience in testing procedures and protocols.

Duration of Consultancy:This contract will be for a period of 4 months with an option to extend. The selected candidate is expected to work 8 hours/day.

Expected Start Date: 2 January 2015

Hourly Rate: $70 - $80 per hour
