ICAP at Columbia University (CU) seeks an experienced Proposal Manager (PM) on a temporary consultancy basis who will be responsible for managing the development of one or more proposals to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The PM will work collaboratively with ICAP’s field-based and headquarters staff, managing the proposal development process from proposal kick-off to proposal submission.
Major Responsibilities
- Facilitates proposal kickoff and plans meetings
- Adapts proposal toolkits and templates
- Develops timelines and carefully monitors progress against milestones
- Communicates progress with the larger proposal development team and tightly manages the overall proposal development process
- Supports final proposal production
- Serves as a resource to the development team in ensuring that the proposal is fully responsive to the solicitation
- Supports the development of budget justifications and other supporting documentation, including corporate capability statements
- Maintains personal work management system for tracking tasks and follows-up on actions to ensure timely completion of deadline driven tasks and outcomes
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience, Skills & Minimum Required Qualifications
- The PM should be very familiar with the process of responding to funding U.S. Government solicitations, especially the CDC
- Requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum of two (2) years of experience in proposal development or management, preferably in the area of public health or international development
- Expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent writing and copyediting skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, high degree of flexibility, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
- Ability to interpret budgets and contribute to the development of budget justifications and other supporting documentation
- Ability to produce information quickly, juggle multiple demands, manage shifting priorities, and negotiate timelines. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in teams under tight deadlines
- Excellent inter-personal ability and cross-cultural competency
