About the role The Program Quality Advisor is responsible for promoting quality assurance across Save the Children Australia’s (SCA) programs portfolio. Working collaboratively with Melbourne and Country Office-based program management and technical colleagues, the Program Quality Advisor will contribute to strengthening the quality of SCA’s programs through:

· Providing technical support on the design, monitoring and evaluation of high quality child rights and inclusive programs, ensuring compliance with quality issues, standards and relevant policies

· Supporting development and implementation of program policies and systems

· Supporting effective reporting and accountability to internal and external stakeholders

· Facilitating high quality evaluation exercises

To be successful in this role, we are looking for:

  • High levels of behavioural flexibility with experience and demonstrated success working across complex and demanding environments
  • Demonstrated personal leadership skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with a range of diverse stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills, demonstrating a collaborative and inclusive working style
  • Demonstrated experience within developing countries, Pacific experience will be well regarded
  • Proven program design, monitoring and evaluation expertise in an international setting
  • The ability to work across issues at a strategic level, whilst operating in the detail and demonstrating good analytical thinking
  • Experience designing and leading trainings and capacity development exercises for diverse target audiences
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in developing policy, standards and implementation guidelines
  • Bachelor/Masters Degree in appropriate subject e.g. International Development, Social Research and Policy.
  • Through a solid work ethic and high levels of integrity, be able to demonstrate initiative and drive in getting the best outcomes for children

This role will offer the opportunity to travel and work internationally, both in a head office capacity and on the ground with our country leaders and local staff. The successful candidate will be joining a highly effective team focused on ensuring SCA’s programs are of the highest quality and delivering positive change in the lives of the most vulnerable children.

This role is based in Melbourne, Australia, however sponsorship will be considered for the right candidate.
