The Graphic & Web Design Associate will support Creative’s efforts by:

  • Effectively responding to routine requests with professional, creative and timely products;
  • Collaborate with Communications colleagues to support the delivery of creative, fresh and innovative products and services;
  • Produce high-caliber graphics for print and web that meet Creative’s communications objectives.

Reporting, Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities and Characteristics

The Graphic & Web Design Associate reports to the Communications Manager. This is a highly collaborative position that requires a variety of talents, including time management, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

Primary Responsibilities

The Graphic & Web Design Associate will:

  • Be the primary graphic designer for headquarters;
  • Develop products in response to requests for a variety of print and online materials (i.e brochures, graphics, infographics, report covers, selected publications and business cards) for use among internal and external audiences;
  • Post new content, including banners, to Creative’s soon-to-be-launched website;
  • Develop graphic content for Creative’s intranet;
  • Manage the design and distribution of internal and external newsletters;
  • Collaborate with other Communications team members and Program division staff on special projects that promote the organization and its projects;
  • Develop and produce of corporate marketing materials;
  • Play a supporting role in the development of project marketing materials;
  • Submit of design samples for approval;
  • Manage outside vendors, including the solicitation of prices, placing orders and ensuring quality control;
  • Support Creative’s photo database;
  • Contribute to other tasks requested of the Communications Department, including support of internal and external events;
  • Perform some general office duties, such as ordering supplies and handling color printer/copier regular maintenance, related to graphic design.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or a closely related field;
  • 4-5 years professional design experience;
  • Strong aesthetic and attention to detail;
  • Competency in specialized Adobe Creative Cloud 2014 design software: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Professional;
  • Ability to work on a Macintosh system;
  • Ability to manage social media sites
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting;
  • Experienced in supporting and managing internal and external clients;
  • Compelling verbal and written communications skills.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • High degree of comfort with digital and social media;
  • Professional knowledge of pre-press and printing processes/techniques;
  • Experience and knowledge of WordPress and/or other content management systems a plus.
  • Knowledge and familiarity in web design: HTML, CSS and PHP coding;
  • Knowledge and familiarity of Email Marketing Portal such as Contact;
  • Proficiency in a second language helpful but not required;
  • Photography skills a plus.
