Key Responsibilities:
- Project Development & Implementation
1.1. Ensure smooth implementation of the disaster management project consistent with project documentation, log frame and activity plan.
1.2. Coordination and monitoring of field activities including technical assistance, conducting trainings and other activities as described in project documents.
1.3. Provide inputs and comments to the methodologies and procedures developed within the framework of the project.
1.4. Participate in the development of disaster management-focused project proposals and other fundraising activities.
1.5. Contribute to strategic program planning and monitoring. - Management of Budgets
2.1. In cooperation with finance staff, manage project budget in accordance with project spending plan and project document.
2.2. Prepare project spending plan and other documents needed for sound budget management.
2.3. Check and maintain overview about project expenditures. - Team Management
3.1. Supervise and support project staff in achieving objectives of the disaster management project, including recruitment, development and coordination of staff training, conduction of project meetings and one-to-one supervision sessions with the staff.
3.2. Checking and evaluation of working performance of subordinated staff, preparation of task lists and task management. - Reporting
4.1. Responsible for timely professional donor and HQ reporting’s projects and regularly report to the Executive Director 4.2 Responsible for checking and keeping of internal project reports and other materials documenting project implementation. - Communication
5.1. Liaising, consulting and networking with relevant national and regional partners and stakeholders.
5.2. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with project partners. - Core Competencies:
University degree in relevant field (engineering & emergency management, business, economics, or finance) or International Development preferred. - Minimum four years overseas work experience as a Project Manager in emergency sector .
- Strong leadership, project management and networking skills.
- Fluency in oral and written English (required) and French languages (desirable, basic level required).
- Previous budget management experience;
- Ability to support, manage and develop international and national staff
- Strong representation, communication and organizational skills.
- Be personally and programmatically sensitive to cultural, ethnic, gender and diversity issues.
- Ability to work under pressure and in insecure environment.
- Very good computer skills (MS Excel, Work, Power point).
