Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development, and food security to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil societies. ACDI/VOCA has approximately 70 projects in 35 countries and total revenues of approximately $173 million.
We are seeking a D.C.-based Associate Director, Corporate Analyses who will support the global data aggregation and analyses of project and global data sets. This position also takes a lead role in reporting and presenting on findings. This position requires a combination of technical, analytical, and managerial capabilities with a proven record of project management, capacity building, and team building.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Global Indictor Data Collection, Impact Analyses & Reporting
o Facilitate corporate wide implementation of ACDI/VOCA’s new global indicators
o Train field and HQ staff as needed to support data collection efforts
o Work with the Regional Systems & Technology director to support development and roll out of the ACDI/VOCA SharePoint-based global performance database as relevant to global indictors
o Ensure data is regularly and correctly updated and maintained to record project performance across countries and practice areas for adaptive management
o Analyze data and assist the writing (supported by all other M&E staff) of the Annual Measures of Our Success report findings focusing on global impact
o Work with ACDI/VOCA’s communication team to share results and findings
• Balance Scorecard (BSC) Metrics & Reporting
o Work closely with the senior vice president of Quality & Compliance to support the corporate effort to track our strategy using the Balanced Scorecard approach
o Support development of indicator protocols and data forms
o Support development of corresponding SharePoint/excel databases as needed
o Ensure data is regularly and correctly collected and updated to record performance
o Help analyze data and report on findings quarterly
o Train staff as need
• Analyze Project Data & Reports and Promote Key Findings & Results
o Review baseline mid-term and end line project studies (and other M&E and learning efforts) to identify key findings relevant to our corporate mission
o Review project SharePoint data sets and analyses to identify key findings relevant to our corporate mission—support additional analyses based on corporate messaging/knowledge searches
o Develop presentations and reports to promote findings
o Support key publications on findings
• Support New Business with M&E Data/Analyses
o Ensure new business proposals reflect corporate M&E learning
o On occasion support the M&E design on specific proposals
• Support Improved M&E and Learning at the Project Level
o Collaborate with regional M&E advisors to ensure M&E components are of high quality standards and help improve processes and practices in data management and analysis
o On occasion support the M&E startup on new projects
A master’s degree in international development, economics, social sciences, or other related field, with a minimum of five years’ related work experience in Monitoring & Evaluation within international development programs required. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in data collection, statistical analysis, reporting, and experience with computer-based statistical packages and databases (Epi Info, ACCESS, STATA, SPSS, GIS, SAS, etc.). Candidates must also have demonstrated proficiency and interest in publications and writing, as well as the ability to synthesize data into reports and learning products. Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, organizational, and team-work skills are required. Fluency in English required. French language and/or Spanish language skills a plus. The ability to travel internationally is required.
