Under the leadership and management of the Senior Architect Enterprise Systems Integration and Cloud, engage in systems integration and platforms extensibility related software development in the context of the current Technical Architecture initiatives. These activities include:
· Development and customization of software to automate, expose and/or integrate different service components ranging from directories and identity and access to cloud and relational databases (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, ADFS, FIM, Azure AD, etc.)
· Development of tools and monitoring interfaces (such as dashboards) to assist in the oversight and maintenance of various systems supported by the technical architecture Section or other sections within the ITSS Division.
· Collaborate with the Senior Architect Enterprise Systems Integration and Cloud and the Architect: Identity and Access Management on the third line support of the above mentioned platforms.
· Support the designs of the Senior Architect Enterprise Systems Integration and Cloud by implementing the appropriate utility software – e.g., scripts, web interfaces and services, native applications, etc.
· Document the solutions and provide training to different sections as needed.
Duration of the Consultancy: 11 months
Pay Rate: $400 - $500 per day
The role requires expertise in software development and enterprise systems, as well as a good grasp on systems integration and internet / cloud technologies.
The software developer must be conversant in the current UNICEF technology stack including the Microsoft Development Technologies (Visual Studio, C#, WCF, Web API) and server platforms (Windows 2008 / 2012).
Must exhibit a high degree of flexibility and cross-functional ability when assigned to working with the Senior Architects on various projects or technical activities (e.g., product development in the context of a large program, trials, development of proofs-of-concept, pilots, etc.) as well as other ICT staff in different units or section.
Within the guidelines established for this function, the incumbent exercises considerable discretion and judgment in coordination of his activities.
Deliverables:
· Contribute to the design and development of the Office365 integration components that will be part of the C4 Phase III, including the SharePoint Online Profiles Integration.
· Contribute to the design and development of integration and Identity and Access solutions related to ongoing organization initiatives.
· Contribute to the refinement of current integration solutions such as the SAP GRC interface and the FIM directories integration.
· Support the Unit on the creation and maintenance of Systems Architecture Documentation.
· Support the Unit on the resolution of the incidents that are escalated to third line.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a Software Engineering specialization is a plus.
· At least, 6 years of experience in software engineering applied to both web and desktop development. Experience developing on cloud platforms is a plus.
· Excellent understanding of:
The Microsoft development stack, including but not limited to the Visual Studio tools family, the .net framework, Windows Communication Foundation, Winforms, Windows Services, MVC, WebApi, etc. Knowledge of the J2EE ecosystem and development environments (Such as Eclipse and Net Beans) and open source development stacks is a plus.
- SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2010 / 2013 as a development platform.
- Common Internet technologies (e.g. http, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON)
· Strong understanding of:
- Software development methodologies and processes, including agile and different testing levels and methods.- Webservices standards and common Architectural Styles: SOAP, REST, WSDLetc.- Cloud Computing technologies and platforms, including Windows Azure and Amazon Web Services.- Database technologies, including relational databases, query languages and persistence frameworks- Basic Network Design & Security, TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, Load Balancing, access control and authentication.· Basic understanding of:
- Modeling languages used in Software design specifications, such as UML.- Directory Services and related technologies, including LDAP and Active Directory.Skills:
· Strong analytical skills.
· Ability to work autonomously.
· Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
· Flexibility, ability to multi-task, to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
· Strong attention to detail, proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Good oral, written and verbal communications skills.
· Familiar with Project Management concepts (e.g. Project Stakeholders, Project Timelines, Scope/Quality constraints, project closure).
· Project experience involving multiple contributors and implementers in cross-functional scenarios
· Ability to:
Analyze and understand technical requirements and translate them into software components,
Interpret feedback and incorporate fixes/improvements into subsequent releases in an iterative process.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure testing is completed in a timely manner and feedback is incorporated into solutions as required.
Coordinate with Operational counterparts and Release Management to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
