Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall home office program management support to the Viable Support to Transition and Stability (VISTAS) program in South Sudan;
  • Assist the project management team, oversee all home and field office activities, and ensure effective and efficient coordination between the two offices;
  • Be thoroughly familiar with relevant U.S. and host country regulations and laws as well as AECOM policies and procedures, and be accountable for project implementation compliance with these regulations, laws, policies, and procedures;
  • Recruit, mobilize, and demobilize short-term consultants and long-term project staff;
  • Assist in orienting consultants and staff to AECOM and project objectives, procedures, resources, and relationships; monitor processes to ensure that proper procedures and rules are followed;
  • Process expense reports, make travel arrangements, and process payment requests;
  • Assist Project Manager with USAID approval requests process and all project related procurement;
  • Assist with project start-ups and closeouts including traveling to the field as assigned;
  • Prepare project memos; review monthly invoices to the client;
  • Develop and monitor consultant and subcontractor contracts;
  • Monitor project budgets and assist in the preparation of budget modifications;
  • Copy edit project deliverables, ensuring corporate/client branding requirements are met;
  • Prepare information needed for business development and AECOM communications materials such as Past Performance Reviews, CVs, Charts, and program summaries/brochures;
  • Travels to the field to provides surge support as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 0-5 years direct USAID project experience, preferably with one of the larger USAID contractors;
  • Bachelors’ Degree in International Relations or a related field;
  • Team player who can work independently with minimal guidance, who also excels at consulting and coordinating with teams;
  • Ability to write and verbally communicate clearly and concisely;
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines with keen attention to detail;
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel;
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% with minimal notice on short-term assignments overseas, including possible travel to post-conflict zones.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with USAID regulations and policy, such as AIDAR and FAR strongly desired;
  • Ability to adjust to continually changing program requirements and work conditions;
  • Prior experience living and/or working in the developing world;
  • Fluency in a second language, especially Arabic, is a plus.
