Job Details:
UNICEF has undertaken a large scale migration and redevelopment of its knowledge management solutions into Microsoft technologies. We currently require an experienced SharePoint (2010/2013/online) /C# developer to build customized features, applications and sites within the SharePoint environment. The successful candidate will assist in the development and maintenance of several enterprise applications using written C# managed code.
This off-shore position will report to a section manager and work within a team dedicated to this new initiative within UNICEF. The team you will be working in will include a web designer, SharePoint administrators, SQL DBAs, SQL developers and other SharePoint/C# developers.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Complete ICON Intranet SharePoint Online version and assist in migrating the existing ICON SharePoint 2010 data to SharePoint Online (2013).
• Work on Community Template Phase 2, Teams Online, Social Profiles and Custom Workflow Templates.
• Assist in migrating SharePoint 2010 on-premise sites and custom features to SharePoint 2013 on-premise.
• Any other application(s) which requires urgent development.
• Participate in the assessment of customer requirements, determine technical feasibility and document results.
• Based on UNICEF development standards, develop the following: custom web parts, event handlers, timer jobs, features, and other custom-coded SharePoint/C# .NET solutions.
• Research and test new technologies and third-party tools.
• Ensure in-depth application testing and integrate quality into all work.
• Perform tests according to a given test plan and document results.
• Assist in the creation and enhancement of development standards.
• Provide technical documentation on completed work.
The skills and experience required for this assignment are:
· 5 + years enterprise web application development experience
· 4 + years .NET (C# and ASP)
· Experience in developing and consuming web services (WCF, SOAP)
· 3 + years SharePoint development (2010, 2013 a plus) using .NET Server, CSOM, JSOM, and REST APIs
· 3 + years HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery, XML
· 2 + years SQL Server and programming (SSRS experience a plus)
· Proficiency in using SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, and Teams Foundation Server
· Experience working in projects having integration with Microsoft products (Exchange, Office, etc.)
· Familiarity with directory services (Active Directory, LDAP, ISA), networking (DNS, HTTP, SSL), email (SMTP), and storage (SAN) concepts
· Ability to build custom web parts or apps for SharePoint sites.
· Experience in developing .NET applications using JAVA, jQuery, Open Source and custom AJAX controls
· Ability to be a self-starter and to work with minimum supervision
· Experience in a multi-cultural and gender sensitive work environment
· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Ability to work with a team as well as independently.
Duration of the Consultancy: 11 months
Pay Rate: $250 - $350 per day
