ABA ROLI is a non-profit program that implements legal reform programs in roughly 50 countries around the world. ABA ROLI has nearly 700 professional staff working abroad and in its Washington, D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organizations, including human rights groups.
SUMMARY
The ABA Rule of Law Initiative is seeking a full time dynamic, highly collaborative Finance Associate to join the Finance and Administration team in the Washington, DC office. The Finance Associate is responsible to providing financial management support across all divisions of ROLI.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process expense reports for DC staff, Country Directors, Legal Specialists, and Contractors in the ABA Financial system;
- Review new grant budgets, cost extensions, non-cost extensions, and realignment budgets for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the ABA policies and procedures and USAID regulations;
- Prepare contracts for vendors to buy goods and services;
- Request Purchase Order numbers for US and Non-US vendors, sub grantees, and Independent Contractors;
- Submit incoming invoices for payment, perform shared cost calculations and reclassification of invoices;
- Monitor in-kind contribution for all grants and prepare in-kind reports;
- Advice program staff on grant spending based on grant spending reports;
- Assist managers in performing various financial and administrative projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University;
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications;
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and carefully review work for accuracy;
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines;
- Ability to act independently to identify and analyze problems and recommend effective solutions;
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal and general ledger accounting skills;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and business writing and general analytical skills.
