The Malala Fund empowers girls through education to achieve their potential and be agents of positive change in their communities. Working in four countries, the Fund joins with local partners to invest in innovative solutions, advocate for quality education and amplify the voices of girls to demand change.
The Digital Manager of the Malala Fund will create, build and maintain the organization's digital platforms and community. Working closely with all departments, the Digital Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the organization's strategy for online and digital activities including growth, advocacy, fundraising and communications.
The successful candidate will be a creative, committed leader with broad experience in managing digital campaigns, development and tools. The Digital Manager will be a central and innovative part of building the organization and creating a new digital community around global education. The Digital Manager will expand the organization's online presence by engaging new supporters and advocates, fundraising online for Malala Fund programs, and ensuring that the Malala Fund stays at the front of social media and digital engagement.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
- Develop and implement overall organizational digital plan and budget and lead day-to-day operations and execution of digital strategy, including metrics and reporting.
- Oversee development of digital platforms including website, email marketing, content management system and customer relationship manager.
- Manage digital projects with a network of external vendors and pro bono supporters.
- Develop content and engagement strategy for Malala Fund website, email, blog and social media outlets.
- Develop long-term and short-term strategic plans for email program, online growth and fundraising for education projects and campaigns.
- Oversee online fundraising program, working closely with Development Manager, including email communications with supporters.
- Ensure that all online systems are working seamlessly and supporting the work of other departments, ensuring work is integrated and organization's digital needs are met.
- Create a productive, innovative and engaging culture.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Creative, innovative leader with 5-7 years of digital experience that includes work on online fundraising and advocacy programs.
- Expertise in advocacy campaigns, technology management, online fundraising, email communications, list building, content development and social media.
- Fluency and strong experience in engaging vendors in full stack web development.
- Ability to manage many different projects at once, from assignment to delivery.
- Able to work collaboratively and quickly with a variety of vendors, departments and key actors.
Valued and Non-Essential Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Knowledge of general international development landscape, partners and organizations.
- Specific experience in start-up or social entrepreneur organizations.
- Prior experience working in digital campaigning, fundraising and/or political campaigns
