Senior Business Development Specialist – Government Relations

The Senior Business Development Specialist – Government Relations will work under the direction and supervision of the Director, Business Development in BroadReach’s Global Health division to meet the targets of the Business Development Unit (BDU) and to continue to expand and diversify the company’s revenue locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a significant role in helping identify and pursue strategic priorities related to donor funded health programs
  • Build relationships with ministries of health, donors and potential partners
  • Inform the BDU on advance intelligence regarding potential donor-funded opportunities
  • Travel to potential activity sites to identify and liaise with potential partners, research the local implementation environment and identify options for BRHC involvement
  • Conduct research, review and analyze documentation for proposal bids to inform the technical strategy and approach
  • Communicate and collaborate with staff and external consultants on proposal writing activities
  • Research and identify best practices pertinent to the work of BRHC and keep up to date with latest trends, approaches and methodologies
  • Collect information on project startup, mobilization and logistics

Minimum Qualifications

  • University Degree in a health discipline or other relevant field; MS or PhD highly preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience working on donor funded programs in substantive representation roles
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, leadership and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize diverse information into manageable pieces
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Fluency in multiple languages, a plus
  • Flexibility and ability to telecommute
  • Ability to travel internationally
