Fun, fast, fearless start-up seeks passionate communicator to create and curate content, spark dialogue, cultivate donor partnerships and drive online engagement for innovative social enterprise. Kangu is a global crowdfunding website that reduces the number of women who die in pregnancy and childbirth worldwide. At www.kangu.org, donors can search profiles of pregnant women around the world and contribute $10 or more so that one mother-to-be and her baby receive access to high-quality, respectful healthcare services. With support for the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition and Financing For Development, Kangu has launched a One Mama At A Time Campaign expanding into Latin America and the Caribbean.
We are currently seeking a Digital Marketing Strategist Fellow to join our dynamic team. You will be an early member of the team and an integral part of Kangu’s success. Kangu seeks a Digital Marketing Strategist Fellow to drive users to Kangu and convert them into donors.
You will:
- Oversee Product and Creative to drive traffic to Kangu’s website, growing unique visitors, donors and repeat donors
- Post and curate content to drive donations and deepen engagement with our existing 2000-strong community across social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
- Surface amazing and inspiring stories about Kangu mamas, their newborns, our partners and donors
- Increase repeat donations and user referrals through email marketing, forging advantageous connections, and supporting partnerships
- Proactively reach out to strategic partners for co-promotion, including attacking target list of bloggers and media outlets
- Manage social media, blog outreach and customer service fellows, with the opportunity to grow your team by engaging additional fellows
- Support and coordinate with Kangu’s PR team
- Attend 2-hour weekly in-person team meetings, work remotely or at Kangu’s new co-working space on the Upper West Side
- Be creative, flexible, thoughtful, authentic and passionate
Requirements:
- Related experience and/or educational background in digital media, marketing, communications or a related field
- Proven experience with Product, Creative, Social and Community Building
- Fearless attitude toward technology and a passion for connecting people
- Experience targeting women, mom market and millennials a plus
This is a part-time fellowship position to begin immediately, with a minimum commitment of 6 months.
