Deputy Director, Corporate Business Development & Workplace Giving

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Business Development, the Deputy Director of Corporate Business Development and Workplace Giving will lead and execute workplace giving, employee engagement and have significant revenue/profit and relationship-building responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

  • Under the leadership of the Vice President, build the departmental plan for managing and growing workplace giving and employee engagement to achieve the revenue targets defined in the USF strategic plan
  • Manage key prospects and contribute to company-specific approach plans, which could include philanthropic/foundation grants, cause marketing, customer fundraising, sponsorship of USF campaigns, employee engagement, and where appropriate, may also include non-revenue activities in support of the partnership (such as CSR engagement, expertise sharing, etc.)
  • Secure meetings, build relationships with key prospect contacts, and support new partnership discussions, including the development of partnership propositions
  • Work closely with UNICEF colleagues, and work to ensure partnership terms are in compliance with UNICEF processes and guidelines
  • Collaborate with USF departments, including Marketing & Communications, Administration, Finance, and Global Programs and Field Engagement. Work closely with the Corporate Partnership Management team in order to ensure a smooth transition once contracts are signed
  • Ensure relationships are built with key senior corporate contacts to help advance relationships
  • Manage, motivate, and develop skills of Coordinator of Corporate Partnerships. Provide leadership and guidance to Coordinator on strategy and tactics
  • Work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team, with other USF departments, and with UNICEF to initiate innovative ideas to steward and maximize opportunities, and generate new revenue
  • Participate in meetings and liaise with corporate prospects, with UNICEF headquarters, National Committees and Country Offices, and internally with other USF departments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in an partnership development or workplace giving role; mix of corporate and non-profit experience preferred
  • Proven track record generating new revenue
  • Significant relationship building, revenue/profit responsibility, and management experience
  • Ability to build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and styles, and experience working with contacts at all levels of Fortune 500 companies, including presenting to senior-level decision makers and influences across business units and functions, including foundation contacts, as well as marketing/PR contacts
  • Experience working with retail, consumer products, and/or financial services sectors a plus
  • Ability to lead internal and external meetings
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize while working under multiple deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills; ability to effectively collect, analyze, organize, distill and present information
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international developing country locations required
  • Proficient in PowerPoint
