****OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:****

The Manager, Organizational Learning (OL) serves as a key resource to the Organizational Learning team within the Office of Chief Executive at Management Sciences for Health (MSH) on matters relating to organizational learning. Working under the guidance of the Director of Organizational Learning he/she will support the implementation of the organization’s strategic roadmap goal to becoming a learning organization. Success and sustainability of the activities is dependent on the consistent and expert guidance of someone with experience in facilitating knowledge management and organizational learning tools and methods. S/he will support projects and country programs in the development of learning strategies for improving the performance of MSH staff to share and learn lessons from projects and each other across a global network. As a key resource to OCE she/he will also build internal capacity to design and facilitate knowledge management and learning strategies. The position is full-time and based in Arlington.

****SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:****

  1. Guide teams through the process to develop learning strategies that will integrate learning and knowledge sharing behaviors into operational processes to enhance project deliverables.
  2. Build capacity of MSH staff to use and maximize organizational learning and knowledge management methods, including facilitating and training on After Action Reviews, Peer Assists, feedback loops, World Cafe etc.
  3. Coordinate with departments across MSH to implement best practices in organizational learning, including the sub-areas of knowledge management, information management, social networking, and communities of practice and provide coaching as needed for staff to conduct these interventions and processes on their own.
  4. Design and conduct virtual programs and seminars on key organizational learning topics, such as learning practices in fragile states, institutionalizing management and leadership practices, team building, strategic alignment sessions and organizational interventions that lead to more systematic learning.
  5. Develop standard operating procedures and documentation for knowledge management and learning.
  6. Contribute to new business and proposal development as it relates to learning and knowledge management.
  7. Provide direct Knowledge Management and Learning technical assistance support to MSH projects.

****QUALIFICATIONS:****

  • Master degree in the Social Sciences, Organizational Learning, Knowledge Management, Public Administration, Public Health or related fields.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience developing, implementing and managing organizational learning approaches in strengthening institutions.
  • Experience with key Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning interventions.
  • At least five years of experience in international development work.
  • Demonstrated competence in concepts and issues in knowledge management processes and organizational learning approaches. Experience conveying these concepts through facilitated processes and activities to technical staff, especially regarding topics such as organizational change, managing conflict, roles and responsibilities and inspiring teams to produce results.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach knowledge management and organizational learning techniques and skills to colleagues, partners and local organizations in developing countries.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively engage and coordinate with international donors and technical agencies as well as with national or regional based institutions and organization.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English required. French a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills evidenced by effective collaboration with professional colleagues in a broad range of nongovernmental, governmental, and international organizations, in varied socio-cultural contexts.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
