Role Description:
Healing Hug Field Coordinator will be responsible for developing and strengthening the systems, processes, reporting and accountability required for the successful expansion of the Healing Hugs pilot program at cbm Canada with partner hospitals in Africa. The coordinator will be required to train selected hospital/program staff to use a computer tablet-based database for client registration, photo and records capture. Also, the coordinator will replicate the program’s best practices with new partners and accelerate the growth of a jointly-agreed, minimum output, of Healing Hugs clients (patients) per month.

Requirements:
Experience and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Programs, International Development, International Business, Business Administration, Project Management or related discipline.
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a development context.
- 3-5 years of project management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
- Project Management Professional designation would be an asset.
- Monitoring and Evaluation, disability and inclusive development trainings would be an asset.
- Experience working in Eastern and/or Southern African country(ies) and/or a high understanding of culture and country context are considered strong assets.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate building and maintaining of good relationships.
- Diplomatic with ability to negotiate.
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills with strong attention to details.
- Decision making and creative problem solving.
- Independent judgment in particular with in project evaluation, analysis of project deliverables.
- Ability to be flexible and deal with a complex workload.
- Demonstrated intercultural competencies and attitudes, including patience and respect for local expertise and work culture.
- Data Analysis.
- Photography skills and use of digital equipment (camera, computer tablet).
Other Requirements:
- Ability to cope with cultural isolation and different standards of living.
- Ability to travel between countries in East and Southern Africa over the course of the year often working in a hospital environment with some field work and visits to remote villages.
Eligibility criteria:
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening
