Summary:

CAMRIS seeks a Senior Project Manager for an anticipated five year project that provides crucial operational and administrative support to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA) in coordinating USAID’s international disaster response and humanitarian assistance, emergency and developmental food aid, conflict mitigation programs, transition activities and other DCHA Bureau initiatives.

The Senior Project Manager will lead, direct, and monitor project and contract performance of task orders and hold responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and culmination of specific projects to ensure consistency with the client’s management strategy.

Primary Duties:

· Provide direction and executive level management to contract operations, often requiring the coordination of multiple projects/tasks and groups of personnel at various locations.

· Ensure senior level management in the client organization is notified of the status of overall programming.

· Coordinate and facilitate the submission of financial, performance, and status reports and other reports required by the client in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field including, but not limited to, international relations, economics or a related field, with minimum of eight years’ experience responding to humanitarian emergencies, or Master’s degree in a relevant field including, but not limited to, international relations, economics or a related field, with minimum of 12 years responding to humanitarian emergencies.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience with a U.S. Government foreign affairs agency related to humanitarian assistance, including disaster response and humanitarian assistance, emergency and developmental food aid, conflict mitigation programs and transition activities.
  • Prior experience in executive level management of project and contract operations.
  • Prior experience abroad on-the-ground in emergency or crisis interventions, experience in developing countries and complex environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of United States Government rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to humanitarian assistance projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of international humanitarian systems, concepts, best practices, and challenges.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
