The Water Trust
Director of Operations
Founded in 2008, The Water Trust (TWT) is a New York City based NGO dedicated to helping the world’s rural poor gain lasting access to clean water, sanitation and better hygiene practice. Today our geographic focus is Uganda, East Africa. Our founders come from the finance industry and from this context have built TWT with a results and business oriented culture that emphasizes transparency, accountability, sustainability and data driven decision-making. We believe that beginning a day without clean water to drink or a place to go to the toilet is a hardship no child should face and we envision a world where access to water, sanitation and basic hygiene knowledge is universal.
TWT is entering an exciting period of ambitious growth. Over the next 2 years, we aim to more than double the size of our operations on the ground in East Africa. This growth will include geographic and product line expansions to expand our impact, as well as, an exhaustive evaluation and evolution of our monitoring systems to ensure that the programs we implement will last for generations to come.
In order to support this growth, TWT is recruiting a Director of Operations (DO) based in NYC. The DO will report to the Executive Director (ED) in NYC. The DO is responsible for the operations and logistical management of the organization – in both the US and countries of field operations. Additionally, the DO will assist the ED in the strategic and financial planning of TWT.
The position will be compensated with a competitive package based on skill level, experience and education. The position requires travel to developing countries one or two times a year and occasional domestic travel.
