Senior Technical Writer

Position Summary:
BroadReach is currently seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to write technical program reports and proposals in response to USAID, CDC, PEPFAR and other donor-funded solicitations. The Sr. Technical Writer will report to the Director of Business Development - Global Health and should have training and experience in two or more of the following key areas:
• Health Systems Strengthening
• HIV/AIDS Prevention, Treatment, Care and Support; HIV counseling & Testing
• TB/HIV Integration• Malaria
• Comprehensive Prevention (sanitation, nutrition, family planning, etc)
• Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT)
• Capacity Building and Management Training
• Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Quality Assurance (QA)
• Laboratory and Pharmacy Systems
• Supply Chain Management
• Social and Behavior Change Communications
• HIV/AIDS Education/Literacy
• Child Health
• Human Capacity Development
• Social & Community Mobilization
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop technical strategy and lead writing of technical approaches for proposals working with subject matter experts
• Work with the Proposal Development Team, Technical Staff and Consultants to ensure proposals are developed in accordance with BroadReach’s quality standards
• Review RFAs/RFPs to understand technical requirements and donor expectations
• Prepare detailed monitoring and evaluation plan and implementation plan
• Collect and track proposal related information, and disseminating information to all core team members
• Write project technical briefs and reports
Minimum Qualifications:
• University degree in a relevant field of study; advanced degree preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in technical proposal writing, report writing and/or program design, preferably with a technical specialization in a sector or area related to BroadReach’s practice areas
• Strong technical writing, reviewing and editing skills with experience in health programs preferred
• Familiarity with major US donor procedures and document expectations for RFA/RFP, IQCs, Task Orders
• Ability to establish priorities in a time-sensitive environment, and meet shifting priorities and multiple deadlines with strong attention to detail and quality
• Experience working on USAID, PEPFAR, CDC and/or other donor-funded projects/programs, highly desired
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and written/oral presentation skills
• Advanced computer skills, especially with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF software) to produce high-quality, well-formatted documents with tight turnaround times
• Track record of successful proposal writing for USAID and/or CDC-funded programs, highly preferred
• Fluent in English, active listener, customer-focused, and demonstrate unquestionable ethics and values
• Flexibility and ability to telecommute
• Must be based in the US but experience working in developing countries and willing to travel internationally is required
