Global Affairs and Partnerships Team

The Global Affairs and Partnerships (GAP) team leads all non-European fundraising for SFCG, including the monitoring, tracking, and dissemination of public fundraising opportunities from US agencies, non-European bilateral governments, and multilateral institutions. It also manages the organization’s global partnerships and contracts, including partnership vetting, SOW negotiations, and proposal development for IQCs, Frameworks, and other global contracting mechanisms. The GAP team helps drive innovation at SFCG by gathering intelligence on innovative tools and best practices in the peacebuilding field.

Summary of PositionThe Program Associate position is located at SFCG’s Washington D.C. headquarters. The Associate provides research, administrative, and logistical support to GAP’s fundraising activities, including the analysis of internal fundraising trends, forecasting of upcoming opportunities, and tracking of donor policies and priorities. She/he supports proposal development and coordination for global calls and helps design, develop, and manage knowledge management tools to aid business development. Responsibilities• Conduct research and analyses related to business development;• Identify and research opportunities for new program development and partnerships;
• Assist with proposal development for SFCG’s donors, including USAID and the State Department;
• Write organizational documents, capacity statements, and other inputs for global contracting mechanisms;• Design, develop, and curate knowledge management tools;• Liaise with and support SFCG’s 34 country programs in their fundraising and partnership initiatives;• Represent SFCG at events and meetings; • General administrative tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Conflict Studies, Development, or related area; (Master’s Degree preferred, but not required)• Two (2) years of work experience in the international development or conflict resolution field• Written and spoken fluency in English; • Experience writing successful proposals;• Proficiency in second language (French preferred); and • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, etc.)The ideal candidate will further exhibit: • A self-starting, enthusiastic, and professional approach to the organization and the position; • Superior writing, editing, and communication skills; • Excellent attention to detail; • Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines;• Experience liaising with donors and responding to calls for proposals;• NGO, fundraising, and international experience; and• Demonstrable interest in and knowledge of the conflict resolution field.
