Position Summary
The intern will work with the Social Enterprise, Program Development and HR departments, reporting to Senior VP of Social Enterprise, to support a special project in building up a resource data base for four major contracting mechanisms that cover the areas of education, enterprise, environment, water and sanitation, and disaster risk reduction. Responsibilities will vary and will include data screening and organization (mostly resumes) research, writing, editing, administrative tasks and creating visibility materials associated with the four major contracting mechanisms. The intern must be based in Washington, D.C.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Research, writing, and editing
- Assist in compiling a database of candidates for potential Task Orders
- Screening of potential sector candidates and organizing within a data base
- File resumes and applicant information electronically
- Create informational brochures, flyers, etc. for distribution
- Assistance with online outreach and follow-up with contacts
- Administrative
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Detail oriented and highly organized with timely follow-up a must.
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Energetic and assertive, prepared to not only follow direction, but also work proactively
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required.
- Background in any of the sectors a plus (education, water and sanitation, disaster risk reduction, environment
- General knowledge of world affairs and international institutions a plus
- Experience abroad in developing countries a plus
- Willingness to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week for approximately 7 weeks
