Chemonics seeks a project manager for the East Africa regional business unit. Our regional portfolio includes eight projects with primary offices in five countries, spanning a wide range of technical sectors. East Africa’s robust new business market is equally diverse and promises new and exciting opportunities for the selected candidate. Due to our ever-shifting resource needs, this assignment will be determined based on the needs of the region and the qualifications of the candidate. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the project management unit director with project management tasks
- Provide guidance and supervision to project associates
- Assist in monitoring project finances and budget
- Recruit local staff
- Backstop project field offices
- Organize project files
- Participate in new business roles
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in international development or a relevant technical field
- Experience working on health or agriculture projects preferred
- Three years of project management experience
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills?
- Ability and willingness to travel to rural and/or fragile environments
- Experience living or working in Africa preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
